The tail pulley is located at the loading or return end of a conveyor system. Its primary function is to provide tension to the conveyor belt, ensuring proper alignment and smooth movement during operation. The tail pulley is contained within the belt and helps it to rotate freely around the ends of the conveyor. It is generally free-spinning, with bearings mounted either inside or on the ends of the tail pulley.
While the head pulley is responsible for driving the conveyor belt, the tail pulley plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the system by guiding the belt, maintaining tension, and ensuring proper alignment. The tail pulley is located at the end of the conveyor system, opposite the head pulley.
